We are excited to announce the start of major refurbishment work at Cecil Sharp House, the home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. Since 1930 Cecil Sharp House has been the UK’s leading folk arts centre. For the past year, we’ve been seeking your help restore our pride and joy, Kennedy Hall, to ensure it will be enjoyed long into the future.

Thank you from all at EFDSS
Throughgout 2015 we’ve been fundraising to restore the hall. Donations from our friends and supporters have raised over £40,000 and we’re so grateful to everyone who has pledged to support our campaign. We’ve raised enough of our target to begin restoration work, so Kennedy Hall will be out of action between the end of January and the middle of April as refurbishment commences. We will post updates and photographs of the restoration on social media, so keep your eyes peeled!

We still need help
We do still have a little way to go before we meet our full fundraising target, and that means it’s not too late for you to make a contribution to help us restore Kennedy Hall.
All donations received will go towards a full restoration programme, replacing the curtains and sprung floor, conserving the Ivon Hitchens mural, re-stuffing the cushions, restoring and cleaning the wood panelling, cleaning the fabric wall panels, and more.
