Monday Musicians

Come and play folk dance tunes from the British Isles and associated traditions!

Meeting monthly at Cecil Sharp House, Monday Musicians is a great opportunity to play folk music alongside other interested musicians and expand your repertoire.

 

Who is it for?

Monday Musicians is open to all instrumentalists over the age of 16. All instruments and levels welcome. Most suitable for musicians with knowledge of written stave notation as sheet music is used.

 

What can I learn?

Monday Musicians meet to play and explore the traditional repertoire for social folk dancing, in a fun and welcoming environment. Musicians play a wide variety of tunes in different keys and develop their stylistic understanding of this repertoire. Bring a music stand if you can!

 

How can I take part?

Classes are drop in – no booking is required.
Class fee: The cost per class is £5 | £4 concessions (cash only)

 

When do the Monday Musicians meet?

Classes run on Monday evenings once a month from 7 - 10pm.

Who leads the sessions?

The class is led by experienced tutor Thomas Bending.
