“To say that Kathryn plays pipes is like saying that Shakespeare was a bit of a writer… one of the true stars of our music.”
Living Tradition
Ever the innovator, Kathryn’s latest project enlists the help of folk-classical ensemble The Side, featuring cellist Louisa Tuck, Ruth Wall on the harp and clog dancer and accordion player Amy Thatcher. The coming together of Kathryn’s Northumbrian folk tradition with the classical world along with the diverse range of influences present in every member of the band works beautifully, a sound showcased in their new eponymous debut album, released today.
In anticipation of the band’s show at Cecil Sharp house on Thursday 30 October, we are offering you a chance to win a copy of their brand new album. Simply answer the question below and fill in your contact details to enter the competition.
