Afterglow: An Evening of Music and Conversation with Jon Boden

- (Doors: 7 pm)

Cecil Sharp House, London

This unique event sees folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Boden discuss the themes and ideas behind his latest album Afterglow.

Exploring the vision of a post-oil future world, Boden first visited this topic in his acclaimed second album Songs from the Floodplain. Punctuated by solo performances of songs from Afterglow, this promises to be a thought-provoking and enjoyable evening of music and conversation.

Best known as the lead singer and main arranger of the progressive folk juggernaut Bellowhead, musical polymath Jon Boden is widely regarded as a “stand out performer of his generation” (The Guardian). Respected as an interpreter of traditional song, Boden is a vocal advocate for social singing (leading to his ambitious A Folk Song a Day Project), while also pushing the boundaries of traditional music as a part of a number of musical ensembles, most recently with his own band The Remnant Kings.

Promoted by EFDSS and Greenwoodside.
