Folk Sounds Best at Cecil Sharp House
Summer Gig Series: May to July 2014
The English Folk Dance and Song Society has unveiled the details of its summer music season for Cecil Sharp House.
Between Tuesday 1 and Friday 4 April inclusive the lift at Cecil Sharp House will be out of service due to essential planned maintenance work. Please note that during this period there will be no step-free access to the building, or between floors, and at times there will be construction noise.
As part of The Full English project, supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) is hosting a professional development course at Cecil Sharp House on Monday 31 March. This one-day event will demonstrate the successful use of folk music to enhance learning in the school curriculum from key stages 1 - 3, inspired by The Full English digital archive of manuscript materials. If you want to gain the knowledge, skills and resources to start using folk music to enhance your teaching, reserve your place now!
On 9 April Derby-born singer and multi-instrumentalist Lucy Ward will bring her album launch tour to London along side her band, featuring O'Hooley & Tidow, Joy Gravestock (fiddle), Sam Pegg (bass) and Steve Maclachlan of The Willows (percussion).
